The ManTTr® Protocol Book
This book is a guide for therapists and an educational resource for those who have, or have an interest in trigger finger. It is NOT a self-treatment method. Typically, the type of bodyworker who should have the necessary skills to undertake this are: physiotherapists; osteopaths; chiropractors; structural integrationists; and registered masseurs. This list is not exhaustive and should be seen as a guide. As long as practitioners has a sound understanding of human anatomy; physiology; kinesiology; and pathology, who also exhibit good intuitive handling skills, the ManTTr® Protocol is likely not to be a challenge. It is very important that bodyworkers considering providing treatments to people with trigger finger should read this book in its entirety as there are important elements within it which include:
- The history of ManTTr®’s development
- Applications and techniques used in the protocol
- Associated conditions
- Theoretical underpinning
- Clinical reasoning
- Contra-indications and precautions
- New theory of trigger finger cause
It is important that therapists are able to explain in detail the theoretical underpinning of their treatments and not just mimic the procedure as this can lead to inappropriate usage and harm to their patients.
